House #59

Diana - House #59 Homeowner

"Families are not built by blood, but also by tears, heartaches and endurance. As a single mom with three boys, tears and heartaches have been a part of our life, but we have endured. I make it a priority to teach my boys not only to appreciate every moment in life, but to help others appreciate their moment, too. Tomorrow is not promised, but we are here today, so let’s make it count!

I also endeavor to teach my boys that one day soon, they will be men and the decisions they make now will affect them for the rest of their lives. Through my divorce and the recent death of my mother, my boys were my ROCK, especially the second oldest, Ryan. He never left my side through all of it.

I am so honored Habitat for Humanity has given me this opportunity to reward my sons for their love and endurance by putting a roof over their heads. And, not just any roof – a roof that is theirs! A roof they will see come together with the work of awesome and loving people. These are people who will help in providing comfort, joy and security to a boy that will soon become a man.

I know this experience will forever impact their lives for the better. I know they will witness first-hand there are people willing to make the community better by making good decisions and providing a helping hand to those in need. Throughout all the hardships my family has experienced, this makes it all worth it.

We will honor this home and give back to our community."
