Individuals
People of all construction backgrounds are welcome on our jobsites.
HoCo Habitat
builds are great opportunities both to share skills and to gain new ones. All
the while you can know that you are giving a hand up to a deserving family in
need. Please check our
frequently
asked questions page for
essential information about tools, clothing, inclement weather policy, and more.
Before coming
out to the site, you must register for the day you wish to work on
our Volunteer Calendar, read
"Know Your Safety Policy", and fill out a
Release and Waiver of
Liability which should be brought to the worksite the day you are
volunteering.
If you are interested in
furthering your volunteer work with Houston County Habitat, please
fill out our volunteer information sheet, which will help us find
other volunteer opportunities for you both on and off site.
Groups
We welcome groups of 7 to 10 people to help us build
houses as part of a group experience. The
enthusiasm groups bring to our jobsites truly drives our work forward. If
you plan to come by yourself, consider recruiting some of your friends or coworkers! Please
check our frequently
asked questions page for
essential information about tools, clothing, inclement weather policy, and more.
When you are ready to schedule a work day, please call our Volunteer Coordinator
at 478.328.3388 or send us an email. Please
schedule your group as far in advance as possible. This will allow site supervisors to plan work accordingly.
Skilled Volunteers
People of all skill levels are welcome on Habitat jobsites, but
people with construction experience can be particularly helpful.
There are always opportunities to serve for a day or more as a Crew
Leader, leading a small team of volunteers in a particular task.
Teaching new skills to inexperienced volunteers is a rewarding
challenge and our Site Supervisors will show you all you need to
know to be successful. If you are interested, please contact
Tom Prior, Executive Director at 478.328.3388. |
