Houston County Habitat welcomes volunteers who must do court-ordered
community service. While all of our volunteer opportunities are open
to such volunteers, the timeframe required for the hours' completion
typically means that an individual will volunteer either in
construction or at our ReStore. To be eligible to use HoCo Habitat
as a source for completing court-ordered community service, your
sentence must involve:
- No second offense convictions of a violent nature
- No convictions of an offense of a sexual nature
- No convictions of theft or burglary
- Written confirmation of the number of community services hours to be completed.
Additionally, you must:
- Sign a
Release and Waiver of Liability prior to beginning
community service, and sign our
Community Service
Acknowledgement (pdf). Turn in these forms your
first day on the job.
- Schedule yourself for desired hours on our
volunteer
calendar
- Sign in upon arrival at the work location (construction
site, store, or office).
- Sign out when you leave the work site and locate a Site
Supervisor to sign/initial the Community Service form, verifying
your attendance and hours.
- Once your hours are complete, bring your form to the Habitat
office for a final signature and so we can make a copy for our
records.
Please note: Houston
County Habitat for Humanity reserves the right to terminate this
agreement for community service if the participant is in any way
unproductive, disruptive, or in any other way negatively impacts the
accomplishment of the daily goals.) |
