County Habitat
for Humanity is a Christian organization whose
work is based on the conviction that to follow the teachings
of Jesus Christ we must reflect Christ’s love in our own lives
by loving and caring for one another. Although we are a
Christian organization, we partner with groups of diverse faith
backgrounds to build houses for people in need. HocCo Habitat
chooses its partner families based on need and ability to pay, not religious affiliation,
and has served families with various faith backgrounds.
Apostles Build – The Apostles Build offers
the local religious community an opportunity to participate in
HoCo Habitat’s work in a significant way. The Apostles Build
is a partnership between twelve faith groups to sponsor a complete
Habitat house.
To be a participant in the Apostles Build, each faith group must
commit to providing 1/12 of construction costs ($3,600) and 1/12
of the labor necessary to build the home. In some cases,
where a faith group cannot afford the $3,600 commitment we band
several faith groups together to form one Apostle.
There are a variety of other opportunities available to faith
groups. To find out more information please contact Tom
Prior at 478.328.3388.
